A Klezmer Shabbat welcomes the Sabbath with music, singing, dancing and joy! We begin in the Hassidic tradition -- with a nigun, a wordless melody, and soon the entire congregation joins with us in the most beloved Friday night prayers, including L'chu Neranina, L'cha Dodi, the Shema and the Amida -- plus an unusual and rollicking Aleynu. Add to this stories, songs, original translations (with songsheets for the congregation) of Klezmer, Hassidic and Yiddish melodies as well as an ecstatic Rikud -- a spirited dance around the Sanctuary. It is truly a warm and wonderful way for the entire family to celebrate Shabbat! |
